October 2020

Hello all,

Have you voted yet? Do you have a voting plan? Cuz you need to, ok? My head is going to explode :)

It’s physically impossible for me to talk about politics without having a panic attack right now - it’s all too visceral and immediate - so instead, I’ll talk about my dumb videos.

As you are probably aware if you read this newsletter, Chill Grill Comedy produced a web series for Mischief Tales (like and subscribe on Youtube, Insta and Facebook) called Special Report and you can watch episode 1-4 here! And bloops! There are 8 episodes total so we are half-way through bebeeeeeeeee!

Special Report is a sketch comedy show and a labor of love in the time of cholera (err, corona?). It was both very hard and very fun to shoot. So check it out - we release every other Thursday and episode 5 is out November 5th. And tell your friends please, because I haven’t been getting enough compliments about this show and I die without attention. I’m Tinkerbell.

Speaking of needing attention - my improv team, Loser Boy is still doing a weekly online show on Mondays at 7pm EST at The Tank. The Tank is an amazing arts organization in NYC that supports new and emerging artists. They are such a wonderful example of art thriving in adversity - we are donating all our ticket sales, so come see our show and throw The Tank some support in the form of dollar bills.

I’m working on some new projects so keep an eye out.

Speaking of my head exploding and panic attacks, something I’ve been doing to keep sane is working verrrry locally. Not just NYC, but my neighborhood, Astoria, Queens. Organizations like Astoria Mutual Aid Network are do amazing work in the community. If you are feeling overwhelmed, might I suggest working hyper locally? See if there are mutual aids in your neighborhood here - We keep each other safe.

Until next month -

September 2020

Omg it’s Fall y’all. And I have a brand new web series for you! Chill Grill Comedy produced a web series for Mischief Tales (like and subscribe on Youtube, Insta and Facebook) called Special Report and you can watch episode 1 and 2 here! We will release a new episode every other Thursday and we have 8 episodes total! AHHH!

Special Report is a sketch comedy show about 70s rock music, ghosts, mustaches, television and love. It’s not the news, it’s strange and I’m very proud of it. My writing partner, Helena Farhi, aka the other half of Chill Grill, and I wrote 8 episodes knowing we only had one other actor available, Helena’s roommate Steven Czajkowski. The three of us, with very little exception, play everyone in the show and we had to be our own crew (again, with one exception). It’s frankly, nuts. Helena and I are deeeeeep in the editing process but we wrapped our final shoot last weekend.

I’m grateful the Mischief Tales took a chance on our bizarre series and also grateful for a creative project in these end times. The show has a ton of limitations because of the pandemic and it’s been a marvelous challenge to make.

Check it out - episode 3 is out October 8th, so you have time to catch up.

I hope you all have your voting plans ready to go, and are still raising your voices for good and helping your neighbors. Until next month!

August 2020

No small talk this month, just jumping right in. Dumb stuff only, no pleas to fix the planet. Not in August, bay-beeeeeee

#1 Would you please follow Chill Grill Comedy on Instagram and subscribe on YouTube? Our Youtube is especially sad because we only have 1 subscriber, which means one of the duo that created Chill Grill has not subscribed…

I know it’s dumb to talk about followers and subscribers, but we have some fun projects coming up and we would love eyeballs on them. Tell your friends, please <3

#2 Would you follow Mischief Tales on Youtube, Insta and Facebook? Mischief bought a sketch show that me and Helena Farhi (as a reminder, Chill Grill Comedy) wrote, and then have to produce, shoot, act, edit, sing, make costumes, do special effects makeup, etc. We are super pumped for more episodes and want you all to see as SOON as they come out (September, hint, hint).

Also Mischief Tales asked me to write a monologue for a series they are doing - and I already had one! I absolutely love acting, but as you guys have probably figured out, I love to write too. I often end up writing for myself, but I’ve been enjoying writing for other funny people during this whole shitshow of a year. So when Mischief asked, I already had a character monologue I’d created through a bit of a writing assignment I’d given myself. Vincent Hannam directed it via zoom and Steven Czajkowski plays a character of my creation: Bert Railings, Country Music Writer. Watch it here because there’s lots of guitar twanging and dogs. Then slam that subscribe button, okie??

#3 Loser Boy Improv is still doing a YouTube Live show every Monday night at 7pm EST for the CyberTank! We’re making ZERO DOLLARS on these shows, and instead, are asking folks to donate to The Tank - our gracious host and a vital NYC arts organization that provides performance opportunities/space for emerging artists (like Loser Boy). We are so grateful for their support, we’d love you to watch us on Monday nights and support the arts. Tickets are available here and you never have to put on pants to watch. It’s from the comfort of your own home! What are you waiting for??

#4 I was kidding about no pleas to save the planet - I’m definitely still doing that. I’m trying to focus on things I actually can control: creating a voting plan, virtual phone banking for candidates that actually care about other humans, regularly calling on behalf of Breonna Taylor, supporting my local mutual aid fund, volunteering with Muddy Paws Rescue by getting people approved to adopt rescue dogs, taking time to do yoga/meditate daily (cuz you have to put on your own mask before you can assist your neighbor with theirs). Maybe you can find some things within your control that help you make the world a little better.

THIS IS STILL A NIGHTMARE. But I find little moments of helping neighbors, and creating dumb videos the internet (or what is now known as ART), make the nightmare more manageable.

Love you all. Remember to wash your hands, wear a mask and most importantly, be sturdy and full of hope.

Written by moi, performed by Steven Czajkowski, directed by Vincent Hannam. Follow Mischief Tales!

July 2020

I missed last month. Whoops.

I had a calendar reminder but I ignored it. It seemed like there were more important things going on than my “actor updates”. To reiterate: Black Lives Matter. Wear a mask. Do not lose faith. Do not lose your drive. It’s the civil rights movement. Still. It never stopped.

Ok, here’s the update: I have a weekly show with my improv team, Loser Boy. It’s at The Tank - our in-person artistic home and now our virtual one. If you live outside of NY and haven’t seen me do improv, now you can! Lucky you! You get to watch me and my five silliest friends make up stuff with no rehearsal. Again, lucky you. Tickets are here and they are free, except we ask for donations to good causes. Like in June, it was Fair Fight, which battles voter suppression, and this month, it will be just for The Tank, which has provided free space and performance opportunities to artists in NYC - including artists who’s stories don’t often get told: women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, all sorts of folks. Seriously, the Tank is a gem and like most arts organizations right now, struggling to survive. Please consider supporting them. Loser Boy: Boom Boom on the Zoom Zoom - Monday's at 7pm EST.

Yes, that's the title of our show.

I was written up in The Comic of the Day on the Comedy Network Live (cnl) platform! I did an interview here.

Chill Grill Comedy is a sketch group Helena Farhi and I founded. We were asked to do a sketch for Mischief Tales and it was a blast. We filmed it back in early May - it’s super silly. Check it out below. Also, watch more Chill Grill stuff on YouTube and Instagram. Like, subscribe, all that jazz. We have new videos we plan to release soon.

That’s it. Have a good month. Be sturdy and full of hope.
